Landscape Your Driveway for a Great First Impression

postcad-landscaping1

We all know how important a good first impression is, and this is certainly the case when it comes to our homes.
A good first impression can enhance the enjoyment of visitors, make a good impact on neighbors, and even increase the value of the home when it is time to sell. One of the most effective of all landscaping jobs is to landscape the driveway, and it is easier than you might think.

It is obvious why a well landscaped and designed driveway is so important. After all, for many visitors, the driveway will be the first thing they see, and the first impression of your home. A driveway that is messy and cluttered, with toys and tools strewn about, can provide a very negative first impression, while a handsome, well maintained driveway edged with colorful flowers can make a stellar first impression.

There are a number of factors to consider when it comes to creating that fabulous driveway, including the elements you want to include, how much time you have to devote to the project, the amount of maintenance you are willing to do, and of course your budget.

There are a number of high maintenance and low maintenance choices for presenting a wonderfully landscaped driveway. For those homeowners who do not mind the extra maintenance, a flower bush or flowering shrub at the end of the driveway can provide a wonderful first look. For those who would prefer a more maintenance free landscape, a rock wall, fence or similar structure can make a wonderful first impression.

It is important, of course, that the design elements you choose not impede the flow of traffic, both foot traffic and vehicular traffic, into your driveway and your home. If you have the space and the time, you may want to create a footpath to your home and place it alongside the driveway. This footpath can be created using attractive and colorful paving stones, and such a path can make a great compliment to your driveway landscape.

Many homeowners also like to add lights to the driveway entrance, both for safety reasons and for ascetic ones. There are a variety of options for lighting up the driveway, both traditional lighting choices and solar powered lights. No matter which type of lighting you choose, it is important to choose a style that blends seamlessly with the other landscaping elements of the driveway. The same is true of fences and other elements you may add later on. These new additions to the driveway landscape should enhance, not overwhelm, the existing first impression made by the entrance to your home.

An elevator or lift (in British English) is a vertical transport raised floor vehicle that efficiently moves people or goods between floors of a building. They are generally powered by moving motors that either drive traction cables and counterweight raised floor systems, or send hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston.Because of wheelchair access laws, elevators are often a legal demand in new multi-story buildings, especially where wheelchair ramps raised floor would be impractical.

  18. I was very encouraged to find this site. I wanted to thank you for this good read. I definitely loved every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

  19. You actually make it appear so simple with your presentation, but I find this matter to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too involved and very broad for me. I am looking ahead for your future post; I will try to get the hang of it.
